A documentation of Berlin’s disappearing gambling dens by Danish-German photographer Anne LassPrevious featured Here is a link to the article). Lass lived Berlin from 2007 to 2014. It was there that she developed a fascination with the city’s many gambling halls, visiting over 100 of approximately 500. The images are filled with leather sofas, dark corridors and vibrant colors. But even more than the environments themselves, Lass attempts to understand those who frequented them — their desire for a better life and the pursuit of (financial) happiness.

After new legislation, more than 80% of these have already disappeared. Many of them are shown in this work. “Triple Seven” is at once an investigation of the visual signs and symbols used to seduce as well as a photographic record of the undergoing gentrification.
